Perilous Roleplay Official Handbook

Roleplay thrives on structure, respect, and a shared commitment to immersion. These rules are comprehensive, addressing behavior, engagement, and immersion to create a fair and enjoyable community environment. Violations of the rules outlined in this handbook can result in Verbal Warnings (VW) and/or Warning Points (WP). Accumulating WP may lead to temporary or permanent bans, as detailed in the Warning Points System section. Specific WP ranges for violations are listed at the end of each section's introduction.

Section 0: Common Sense

The foundation of a thriving roleplay community is mutual respect, integrity, and adherence to both the spirit and the letter of the rules. While this handbook outlines comprehensive guidelines, no rule system can account for every possible scenario. Players are expected to exercise common sense and good judgment in all situations. Exploiting rule gaps or engaging in behavior that feels inherently wrong undermines the community and will not be tolerated.

If a player asks themselves, "Is this a rule?" or "Will this get me in trouble?" they are encouraged to seek clarification from Staff or err on the side of caution. Violations of this principle, including exploiting loopholes or engaging in questionable conduct, may result in Warning Points (WP), Verbal Warnings (VW), or other administrative actions, even if the behavior is not explicitly outlined in this handbook. Administrative punishments are determined by Staff at their discretion, based on the severity and necessity of the situation.

The WP system tracks violations to ensure consistent enforcement of rules. WP accumulate over time and may result in temporary or permanent bans. However, players can reduce their WP by demonstrating improved behavior. For every month a player remains free of administrative action, 10 WP will be deducted from their total.

0.1 Common Sense Guidelines

• If an action feels unrealistic, unfair, or immersion-breaking, assume it is against the rules unless clarified otherwise.
• Do not exploit rule gaps or technicalities to justify behavior that would otherwise be inappropriate.
• When in doubt, consult with Staff through appropriate OOC channels to ensure compliance with community standards.

0.2 Admin Discretion

• Staff reserve the right to issue WP, VW, or other disciplinary actions for conduct that violates the spirit of the rules or disrupts the community, regardless of whether the specific behavior is explicitly stated in this handbook.
• Admin discretion will be exercised thoughtfully, taking into account context, intent, and impact on the community.

0.3 Player Accountability

• Players are responsible for understanding and adhering to the rules, as well as asking for clarification when needed.
• Ignorance of the rules or failure to exercise common sense will not be considered a valid defense.
